The Labor Day Holiday has finally arrived! There are plenty of activities to do around Baton Rouge and the surround areas. This weekend could be a great chance to get out the house and spend some more outdoor quality time with the family.We know your kids would enjoy some more “summer” fun since the school year has now commenced. Knock Knock Children’s Museum

Come and explore the brand new Knock Knock Children’s Museum this Labor Day weekend. The museum opened August 22nd, and you could be among the first to enter the Knock Knock Community! They have 18 hands-on learning zones for the best experience for your children. The Knock Knock space is tailored specifically for kids, so it will definitely keep them entertained! Did we forget to mention how artistic and fun the building is? Well this is for sure the spot to be this labor day weekend, if you want to get away from the more traditional outdoor approach.

Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center

Do you and your family enjoy bird watching, or being one with nature? If so, this is the activity for you and your loved ones! The Bluebonnet Swamp Nature Center is the ideal place to go and see some amazing wildlife outside of the zoo. The flora and fauna there is a picturesque scene from a painting. The Swamp Center is filled with exhibits, presentations, and of course wildlife! They provide hands on learning, and great outdoor experiences. The park opens at 9 a.m. and closes at 5 p.m. Its located one block off of Bluebonnet Blvd. between Perkins and Highland Road. Turn toward the Whitney Bank and follow N. Oak Hills Pkwy into our parking lot. Ages 2 and younger: free Ages 3-17:$2 Ages 18-64: $3 Ages 65 and older: $2.50 Full-time college students with university ID: $2.50.

Stargaze at Levee

As the evening gradually comes to an end, it doesn’t have to necessarily mean you and your family have to. How about stargazing at the Levee this Labor Day weekend. This is an activity that is sort of overlooked by many. Stargazing is a great way of meditating and clearing your mind. Most of all, there are some great things to be seen in our vast universe! This is one activity you will be glad you signed yourself up for! Who knows, you might even see a shooting star to wish upon.  Best part yet, this activity is free!
